Man, the most boring poke-mon ever. METAPOD. Srsly Nintendo? Srsly? You know what bugs me the most about the caterpie through butterfree evolutions? Its not an evolution, this is seriously just what bugs do. Like charmeleon to charazard? Thats some crazy shit, you get wings, being a cocoon and then turning into a butterfly is not as exotic. (day 11 of poke day)

The end of an era! Day nine of 649  (plus whatever) of the Poke-a day. Blastoise, arguably one of the more badass starters and the last of the original 3 evolutions. Tomorrow we start the excitement anew with... Caterpie?? OH COME ON! This one is dedicated to BigbadShadowman who suggested that it look similar to Gamera, his giant monster expertise seriously outranks mine.

Warturtle, The laziest pokemon. I have had this constant issue with the design of the middle evolution of the starting pokemon, they are really just the first iteration of the first one with some shit tacked on, Which makes them a bummer to draw. 

I kind of forgot I had to do another pokemon sketch today and ended up watching some show... Definetly not MLP. for the first time. Im not hooked or anything.

Just a pencil sketch today. Why two posts on the starting day you ask? Well this actually started a couple days ago, and I just now thought of putting it on blogspot, so instead of being smart and giving myself a day of buffer here I decided to go whole hog, and toss both up here at once. 

001 Bulbasaur

001 Bulbasaur, First!

I  have to be honest, I have always been pretty terrible at digital coloring, and thats what this whole experiment is really going to be, an exercise to advance my lacking skill set. I don't know about you guys, but Bulbasaur was always my favorite of the original starters, I really feel like of Oak's 3 his design was the best. Unfortunately his evolution forms are severally lacking in my opinion. I guess thats true of a lot of the pokemon in the original games tho. 

A Pokemon Sketch a day.

This is going to be one sketch a day, Starting with 001 Bulbasaur, ending with 649 Genosect (actually ending with whatever the official pokedex is after X & Y come out.) I don't know if this is something I can feasibly do, But hell I'm going to try.
